Have you ever seen the ambulances on the road?
In impression, how many ambulances did you once touch on the road in one day at most?
What’s the deepest memory of ambulances for you? If I ask you to describe the ambulances in some short sentences, what kind of words and expressions will you use to describe the ambulances briefly?
As to me, the ambulance is a mean of transportation by land that will let me feel uneasy and upset. There are lots of reasons that let you have to notice it, especially its loud sound, the alarm siren…..五一五一, 吳一吳一…
As to me , a soundless ambulance is the most terrible thing in the world. You know why? The first-aid personnel never drive the ambulances to regard it as work affairs cars. Never ever in Taiwan.
So, if you see an ambulance was soundless. It means that the people inside the ambulance are incurable. They may have already dead. Certainly, it needn’t alarm siren. Have you ever met the situation like that the alarm ring first, but soundless on the road? The God called the person at that time.
Talk about my own experience, I have ever seen 4 ambulances on the road in one day at most. I remember that I have ever met one traffic jam on the 中港road. There was an ambulance nearly couldn’t move in the traffic jam. It made me so anxious, I just stand there and saw the situation. I really don’t know what could I do for that kind of situation, and I just stand there and pray. If you saw the kind of urgent incident in the traffic jam, what will you do? Learning how to pray first.
We are not 24 hours on the road, why do we always meet the ambulances were drove to serve somebody on the road anytime and anywhere. It’s a question of probability. There are too many accidents happened everyday in Taiwan. Do you agree with it? One of my swimming coach did a research about public safety accident.
Let’s compare the morality of water safety between Taiwan and Hawaii. There were only 2 people drown in a year of 2001 in Hawaii, and both of them were visitors. In Taiwan, there were over 600 people drown in the same year. Our government was so proud of the decrease of the morality, cause last few years, there were over 1000, even more than 1200 people drown in a year. It’s really terrible. Deviate from the topic..
Back to the ambulance, its function is to rescue people, not look like the worker affairs car.
As long as the ambulance is acted, there is a task, clear direction and place and it takes the first-aid personnel to the right place. It can’t be lost. And it can’t be delayed even one second, because it maybe lost a valuable life. Ambulance must stand by, on call any time.
Next time, as you meet the ambulance on the road, be sure do not ignore its existence. The arrogant one might thinks that “my own time is much more valuable than that.” Please don’t think like that. If one day, while you lying in the ambulance and waiting for rescues, then you’ll know that kind of feelings.
How valuable is that in those insignificant several seconds?
