今年很榮幸地被選為影展接待之一，得以見到許多時下重要的電影工作者(當然包括我的偶像李安)，尤其是我負責接待、甫以本屆雙開幕片之一「荷里活華人」獲本屆金馬獎最佳紀錄片的導演曾奕田先生，很少人知道他早在1984年便以「裁縫女工」入圍過奧斯卡最佳紀錄短片，及在1994年時以「出櫃戰火下」榮獲柏林影展最佳紀錄片泰迪熊獎，而他上回來台已是13年前當金馬影展亦選映他的歷年作品時，本在開幕片結束便返美的他，在眾多影人好友(包括多屆金馬影后盧燕)的鼓勵下還是再度來台參與盛會，能擔任他兩度來台時期的影展及金馬獎接待深感榮幸並與有榮焉。本屆影展在工作閒餘也看了23部作品，僅次於2003年時看的24部，只因今年選映影片的品質的確是歷年來較好的，接著我選出了本屆我最愛的十部影片，不分名次依英文片名開頭字母排序。

It’s very honored to be selected as one of the hosts (or the official title “receptionist”) for the film festival this year. I got to meet many of the important filmmakers nowadays, of course including my idol Mr. Ang Lee. And the most of all, the director who just won the Golden Horse Best Documentary Award for one of the double opening films “Hollywood Chinese” this year, Mr. Arthur Dong, and who I was assigned to host. Very few know that he has already been nominated for Oscar in the best documentary, short subjects category for “Sewing Women” back in 1984 and won the Teddy Award for “Coming Out Under Fire” at the Berlin Film Festival in 1994. The last time he came to Taipei was already 13 years ago when his film collections were selected by Golden Horse Film Festival as well. He originally had gone back to the US shortly after the opening but came again after he was encouraged to join the ceremony by many of his filmmaker friends, including the 3-time Golden Horse winner Lucy Lu. I feel deeply honored and joyful to share the honor to be his host both for the film festival and the award ceremony. During the free time between my works, I saw 23 films, just less than the 24 ones I saw in 2003. It’s all because the quality of the films selected this year is better among the past indeed. I selected my 10 favorite films in the followings, without ranking, in order of alphabet.
