Growing up at Christmas Night
财 Mrs. Santa Clause—30 year- old female wearing Christmas Holiday dress made of velvet material with red sparkles. The bottom of the dress has white fur, the cuffs of the sleeves also have fur.
财 The Boogeyman—35 year-old handsome stud. He is Mrs. Santa Clause and Mother’s lover.
财 LuLu—Ten-year old girl in the middle-class family.
财 Mother—30 year old housewife.

Scene One
A house in New York City, 2005. It’s Christmas Eve. Lulu is going to sleep. Mother sits next to Lulu’s bed, telling the story.
Mother
"Come with me, fair maiden! The Prince awaits to present Cinderella with his engagement ring!" So she joyfully went with his man, and lived happily ever after with her Prince.
LuLu
(applauding) Exactly like Snow White and Sleeping Beauty tales! I believe the Prince and Cinderella will have wonderful marriage life and lovely children.
Mother
(yawn) I guess.
Lulu
Mommy, am I going to be like them to meet my prince one day and possess a fabulous family?
Mother
Well, since it’s Christmas Eve, why don’t you talk to Mr. Santa Clause about your wish?
Lulu
(angry) But it’s the truth NOT a wish. Every girl must have the man of her life and lived happily ever after.
Mother
Dear, I ‘m so sorry that I forgot the truth. I took my words back. Oh…Maybe you can have a talk with Mr. Santa Clause tonight about his marriage life with Mrs. Santa Clause.
Lulu
Yes, I will. And I believe they will be like fairy tales as well as Daddy and your life: happiness, happiness and happiness.
Mother
(pause) Ok, time to sleep. My sweet girl, have a blast with Santa Claus. Tell me tomorrow your magic night. (kiss Lulu’s head and leave)
Scene Two
Mrs. Santa Claus approaches to Lulu, sitting next to her bed, telling the story.
Mrs Santa Claus
The Princess lived happily with her lover
Lulu
(wake up by the noise ) No, it’s PRINCE and Princess, not the lover. Besides, you lost the key words “ ever after”. You got wrong version of Snow White.
Mrs Santa Claus
Who told you that lame fairy tale? Mine is REAL.
Lulu
(stares at Mrs. Santa Claus with anger) NO. You are the liar. I’m the witness for the truth. Daddy and Mommy are the example of fairy tale. And I will be part of it when I grow up. Every girl’s future will be like that.
Mrs Santa Claus
(ready to laugh) My little girl. Sometimes seeing is deceived.
Lulu
(confused) I don’t understand. And… who are you? Why you are in my room and stole Mrs. Santa Claus’s costume?
Mrs. Santa Claus
(joyful) My valentino is Mr. Santa Claus. Besides, my Christmas Dress looks hotter than that old lady’s traditional one.
Lulu
I don’t get it, (try to figure out) so… you are NOT friendly and mild Mrs. Santa Claus I saw from the pictures? However, you have relationship with Mr. Santa Claus?!
Mrs. Santa Claus
Quietly true. I haven’t showed up before.
Lulu
So, Santa Claus has TWO wives?
Mrs. Santa Claus
(sniff)That old lady is the official wife! (proud) I’m the lover.
Lulu

Mrs. Santa Claus
It means Mr. Santa Claus got married with Mrs. Santa Claus. And then he had affair with me.
Lulu

The world is full of possibilities. Your statement could be adjusted like “ Man has lots of lovers and no children.” Or “ Man has no wives but lots of children.”

(laugh)It’s sounds funny though. (wondering) But what you usually do with Mr. Santa Claus? Taking care of him, for instance, doing laundry and grocery?
Mrs. Santa Claus

I don’t believe. You two are liars to ruin my Christmas. Where are Mr. Santa Claus and his wife? Where are Daddy and Mommy? Where are Prince and Princess?
Mrs. Santa Claus
All right, time to show you the mirror in Snow White and it will reflect reality.
( the mirror emerges in the room and Mother and boogeyman appear are inside the mirror, hand in hand.)
