(RED hopping, whistling a happy tune, carrying a basket WOLF comes out)

WOLF: Hello there, little girl. What is in your basket?

RED: Oh, dear Mr. Wolf. I have some cookies for my dear grandma.

WOLF: Cookies? That sounds nice. And where does your grandma live?

RED: In a little house in the forest. WOLF: I will just go to grandma's house and eat her first! (Wolf starts to exit)

RED: Wait a minute! (Wolf stops) I don't like the story. I'm going to change a few things.

WOLF: What?

(RED takes a pencil and notepad out of her basket)

WOLF: Hey, what are you doing? RED: Changing the script.

WOLF:You can't do that!

(RED writes in notepad)

RED: There! The wolf became a ballet dancer and never came near Red or her grandma.

WOLF: What? A ballet dancer! (starts to dance) This is not the way the story goes! (spin and dance offstage)

RED: This is great! I wonder what else I can do? (Miss Muffet comes onstage, carrying tuffet and bowl)

MUFFET: Oh, hi Red. Would you care to join me for some curd and whey?

RED: No, thanks. Miss Muffet, I think I can help you.

MUFFET: Really? How?

RED: You know a big ugly spider will come and frighten you away,.

MUFFET: (sigh) That's usually how it goes.

RED: Not any more! (takes pencil and notepad, write something) Now go and eat your whey. (Miss Muffet sits down on her tuffet and eats whey. 1st Prince Charming enters. Sits beside her and smiles)

MUFFET: My goodness! Prince Charming! 1st Prince: That looks delicious! May I have some?

MUFFET: Of course! But what are you doing here? 1st Prince: Miss Muffet. Why don't we go to my palace?

MUFFET: Sure! (look at RED) Thanks, RED! Goodbye! (Miss Muffet and 1st Prince exit)

RED: (smiling) I think everyone is happy now. (to be continued...)
