Stand it

斷背山的電影要到二月廿三日才在香港上演, 倒是看了原著. 非常內歛的文筆, 到終段卻帶來很澎湃的感動. 有三段說話最有印象, 不怕煩, 還是再引一下.

I wish I knew how to quit you.

What Jack remembered and craved in a way he could neither help nor understand was the time that distant summer on Brokeback when Ennis had come up behind him and pulled him close, the silent embrace satisfying some shared and sexless hunger.

There was some open space between what he knew and what he tried to believe, but nothing could be done about it, and if you can’t fix it you’ve got to stand it.

星期天與一個朋友和他的太太, 還有不到兩個月大的小兒子到朋友家拜年. 一向喜歡小孩的我, 搶著要抱小孩. 正逗著他玩時, 忽然想起在很多很多年前, 曾經想過如果有一天在街上碰到他和太太拖著孩子時, 會是一個怎麼傷痛的感覺.

但事實與想像大相逕庭, 不單是坦然, 還非常的愉快.

該慶幸我能這麼安然, 還是惋惜那不知所蹤的情感?

If you can’t fix it you’ve got to stand it.
