Speech 10

It was raining heavily when I arrived my Speech 10 classroom today after my intense Organic Chemistry lecture. Besides, I was asking Gray about a hybridizaion question and I suddenly realized that I might be late for Speech 10's first meeting if I still keep on listening, and so I just went away, without any sort of farewell and sound.

Well, the instructor was taking attendance when I arrived. The class should last from 9:30am to 1:10pm, and I was thinking :"How can I kill so many hours inside this dump and boring classroom with such a bald old man!" After a hour of confusion, I finally got the course syllabus on my hand.

There is an assignment sheet attached. I reckoned a Music speech (yeah~), a self evaluation quiz, videa quiz, etc, all sorts of strange titles. Then I read "Charles Schulz Speech", oh wait, what's that? How can I do a speech on such weird thing? I sighed with despair and think what should I do with it, and that's why I chose to find out more about this future assignment.

Before I tell you what is it all about, just read the following:

"Philosophy from the Late Charles Schulz"

Can you
Name the five wealthiest people in the wotld.
Name the last five winners of the MIss America contest.
Name ten people who have won the Noble or Pulitzer prize.

How did you do?

The point is, none fo us remember the headliners of yesterday. These are no second-rate achievers. They are the best in their fields. But the applause dies. Awards tarnish. Achievements are forgotten. Accolate and certificates are buried with their owners.

Here's another quiz.
List a few teachers who aided your journey through learning.
Name five people who have taught you something worthwhile.
Think of five people you enjoy spending time with.
Name three friends who have helped you through a difficult time.

Easier? The lesson?

The people who make a difference in your life are not the ones with the most credentials, the most money, or the most awards. They are the ones that care.
"And don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia." -- Charles Schulz.

Oh! So this is it! I still don't have any idea who's that Charles, but I agree with him. When I read further, I found out this is an easy speech that I'm going to make:

Tell the class about one or two of the people from the second set of questions...people who have made a differenece in your life. Time: 3 minutes.

Well, I've been doing that all the times!

Then we're asked to answer a few controversial questions, like, what do you like about yourself, what do you want to do in 10 years' time...anyway, I encountered this question at some instant and I thought about all the possible answers:"If you can choose at this moment, where would you want to be and what whould you like to do?"

If you want to know my answer to the class, I can tell you personally, but it was from my heart.

This is just something I want to share with you guys. I hope I didn't make you all asleep now?
