Last weekend, I went to visit the photography exhibition “Vanishing leagues”, by Chou Ching-Hui(周慶輝). In the Taipei Fine Art Museum, photos can be seen in a spacious vacancy. Enormous images make me awe.
But I thought those kinds of glory of labors that like “Maoist Revolution”, when seeing the huge image “Harvesters in the field”. It’s no doubt that the laborers are the cornerstone of a society. Ultimately, laborer’s favour and opposition always control the social problem.
On the contrary, the critic “Kuo Li Hsin(郭力昕)” mentioned a concept about ” photos can never be honest only through photographer’s eyes.”, And “Unless with the help of text that clearly denotes the reading of the images.” That means if we read the text of “They are actors in the movie-filming”, the “Maoist laborers” will become a fake joke, not real.
Well, it seems to be too serious to admire the Reportage Photo. Maybe we can consider them just as a record, which against fade-out, like the title: Vanishing leagues.
