hope

my hopes were brought up
it made my days
not one, but few days
just a smile
one simple, but real smile
made me picked up all the hopes i dropped these past years
one more smile
they were too heavy for me to hold on
so i had to drop them
they hit the ground
the heavy, muffled sound
telling me that this is indeed the time i should leave them there

so there...
just when i promised myself that i won’t get my hopes up again
i picked them up without even knowing
and when i finally realized
it was too late
much too late

hopes are always followed by disappointments
i knew
but couldn’t resist but getting them up
knowing it’s not safe at all
so i’m out
again and again
