~ laparoscopy (i. e. keyhole surgery) and using same holes (only cut more near my belly button)
~ less shaking and warmer after general anaesthesia
~ no PCA* is needed but not much pain
~ no problem in drinking and eating
~ my blood pressure is normal soon after I wake up (102-117/66-72)
~ the urinary catheter works well this time.
The only complain is:
~ wait a long time to be transferred to D27
~ wait a couple of minutes for them to come over after I press the button. I guess it's because it's too far away from the main core (I'm in Bay 21 room - an individual room with private toilet. cool!)
* Patient Controlled Analgesia (PCA)
PCA allows you to give yourself as much painkiller as you need (up to a preset maximum) at the time you need it. You are given a button to press that, when pressed, delivers a small amount of painkiller through a small plastic tube in a vein, usually in your forearm. The idea is to keep the pain away by little-but-often doses. The system has built-in safeguards to prevent you from getting too much.
