Stravinsky Violin Concerto
Music Ignor Stravinsky
choreography George Balanchine
Darcey Bussel, Edward Waston
Leanne Benjamin, Ricardo Cervera
The performance is very Balanchine.
Not much linkage between the scene.
Dance in sets. Ending with all the dancers on the stage.
The simple leotard costume, black and white. easy to spot .. ha.
no stage set.
Darcey Bussel was absolutly amazing,
Every movement was light and graceful.
Even with the hand stand ....
That was the most beautiful back bend hand stand i ever seen..
Voluntaries
Music Francis Poulenc
Choreography Glen Tetley
Alina Cojocaru, Federico Bonelli
Sarah Lamb, Rupert Pennefather, Thiago Soares
Very emotional, and alot of strong movements.
Alina was all the way in very deep down mood...
maybe tat's the way it is ..
The costume and stage set are unisome with colourful spots on the white background.
Sarah Lamb was absolutly beautiful..
i dont even recognise her, until i checked the programme. ..
Sinfonietta
Music Leos Janacek
choreography Jiri Kulian
Jammes wilkie, Jonathan Watkins,
Ernst Meisner, Giacomo Ciriaci
A very Encouraging, Motivating and Inspiring Dance.
The whole dance was danced in soft shoes.
Very fade green-blue background.
the big field and blue sky.
ending with 180 degree horizontal arms, reaching out to the side, standing still, facing to the stage set.
music was loud, made by alot of trumpets. make it even louder. for encouraing probably.. and perhaps rousing is a better word in here :P
personally preferred the second and third movements, very interesting. and lovely duets.
met a nice old lady, she said she is a pensioner, and a ballet lover.
she saw ballet as looking at the painting. The movement goes with the expression.
the music create the background atmosphere.
we are just sitting down, and enjoy a lovely lively painting.
it was a fantastic evening. and of course meeting someone who can enjoy and appreciate the performance so much is defintly a bonus.
