It was Moon Festival yesterday. For the Chinese people, it is a good opportunity for family to get together to enjoy the precious moment. My family used to have a BBQ party at night, and enjoyed beautiful moon light. Moon cakes also played an important role in the Moon Festival. The most exciting moment for my nieces and nephews was lighting fireworks and to see them go off after the BBQ party. It was fun on that day.
Now, I am in the U.S.; therefore, the atmosphere around the festival is not as strong as I had expected before. As usual, my husband went to work and I went to school in the morning. After a lunch break and had some time to relax, I started to work on the preparation for the “CBEST” test.
After my husband came back and had dinner with me, we went outside to enjoy the beautiful moon-light. The moon, I think, after comparison, was bigger than what I used to see In Taiwan.
After a short walk outside, we had planned to come home to enjoy the moon cake which we bought from a Chinese bakery last Saturday. But since we were still full after dinner, we decided to keep the moon cake in the refrigerator and enjoy them later. This is my first Moon Festival in the U.S. Not bad!
