Symbol of the Barcelona diocese.
Situated on the site of a Paleochristian basilica. Construction began during the Romanesque period but was finally completed during the Gothic period, which is the dominant style.

The outside of the building is sombre, decorated only with the vertical buttresses. The door of San Ivo is representative of the so-called Catalan Gothic. The interior naves are at nearly the same height, which causes the impression of being in a single site. The lateral chapels have an upper gallery, providing the premises with greater light and openness. The dome base is covered on the inside with handcrafted woodwork. The main façade was built recently (late 19th century, early 20th century), although based on a project from 1408. The door from the cloister to the cathedral and the chapel of Santa Lucía are of great interest.
