Good morning, I'm Chris Wong.
Our group was asked to decide which tour the Geography Club should sponsor this summer. We had to choose a tour that would be the best for the club members. We were also given the following criteria: that the tour should be one that focuses on nature, that it should not exceed seven days and that it should cost no more than HK$4,000 per person including air tickets.
After discussing several hours, our group decided that the South Thailand Eco-tour would be the best tour to choose for the following reasons.
First, the tour focuses on nature, since it allows us to see fish and corals, and includes educational programmes about coral reefs. It is eco-friendly, and includes non-polluting activities such as scuba-diving, sea-kayaking and snorkeling.
Secondly, it is suitable for a group of senior form students. It is neither too easy nor too difficult, with a difficulty rating of three. Also the length of the tour is not too long or short – four days and three nights.
Lastly, the cost is only HK$3,200 per person including airfare. There are also trained guides at no additional charge.
We decided that the other tours were not suitable. The Borneo Discovery Tour is quite long and the participants need to bring a lot of extra things, such as torches and towels. Also, the guide is not included in the price of the tour.
The New Zealand Horse Trekking tour might be difficult for students, with a rating of four. Furthermore, the tour price does not include the airfare.
Finally, the New Zealand Best of Both Worlds tour does not focus on nature, and, like the Horse Trekking tour, it does not include the airfare. It is also too short – only one – day.
In conclusion, we recommend that the Geography Club should sponsor the South Thailand Eco-tour.
