此曲發行於 1995 年，作詞作曲者為陳佳明(1964 ~)，由新加坡歌手許美靜演唱，收錄於她的第二張專輯《遺憾》之中。如月光般清亮而溫柔的旋律，撥動著一代人的心弦。
青韵合唱團委託劉聖賢老師編曲，將〈城裡的月光〉編制為混聲四部的合唱曲，曲間流露出的溫暖不變，縱然於夜晚亦不顯清冷。多了男音的深沉與唱和，不同於原本獨自一人如怨、如慕、如泣、如訴，女聲與男聲的交錯應答、呼喚，彷彿跨越空間的阻隔，使原本一往情深的思念好似得到了回覆，更加堅定了自己的信念-此情不渝，另一端的有情人亦如是。對方所在之處即為自己心之所向，兩人強烈的羈絆哪怕無法朝夕相伴？一面說服自己已看透了人間聚散，一面又期待著重逢之日，終能迎向幸福；也不忘一遍又一遍替心上人向明月許願，願明月守著他，帶給他溫暖與光明。
