Not getting enough sleep, but I promised Kanako that I will walk her to the station this morning. I got up with half close eyes and she prepared the breakfast already. Today’s special:” Nanto with rice & Miso shiru(soup).” More like a real Japanese day by day I think.
After finish washing off myself, I asked her to give me a minute to put on clothes so I can walk her to the station. She showed me the way again and reminded me for the trash recycling rules. While we were getting the transtaion, more and more people walked fast to try to get to work on time. At this moment, the station is sort of in a rush. Only me looks relaxing and carefree. In order to stay out of other people’s way, I tried to stand aside to say goodbye to Kanako.
I stayed around the train station for a while to take some more pictures. In front of the station, there is a small park. People walk their dogs there and feed the doves. Then I headed to the way home by myself and also it’s a test for me to see if I already remember the route. On the way home. I stopped in the Koenji again and tried to get more pictures. To capture the peace atomsphere.
When I walked through the little garden, some guy said a word to me that I couldn’t understand at the moment. I think he said if I am a Korean or so. I didn’t pay attention and tried to ignore it. I guess just some guy who was trying to talk to me. I walked away and tried to avoid the trouble.
I kept my pace to walk around in the main temple. The camera was searching the best angle of the Japanese garden. And I stood up. The hippy guy again showed up near me. He greeted to me first and asked me where I am from. He is a Korean, but was born in Japan and raised here. His Japanese is better than his poor Korean. He wanted to know if I am foreign here. His assumptions are : 1. Korean girl 2. Japanese girl. 3. Candian girl. I asked him why he guessed I would be a Korean. Do I really look like Korean? Then he laughed and I knew it was just a louzy ice breaker. He started to ask me how long I will be staying here and what I wil lbe doing here. He even asked me where I stay now. It came. Do I have way for him to contact with me? Could I give my cell phone number to him? Or which hotel I am staying? He wanted to leave me his contact information for me that I can reach him. I took a piece of paper left in my bag yesterday and the SpongeBob black pen. Then I was delayed by my own stupidness to stop to have converstaion to him. He said if I am still staying around maybe we can have tea some time. Yeah, right!! I will have tea with you some time!
Several minutes wrong judgement will turn out to a surispring outcome that you don’t want to encounter again. I was attacked by at least hundreds of mosquitoes. I am with my short hot pants. Of course, that’s another worng decision.
With his cell phone number and his e-mail address, I was regreting why I was dump to stop to talk to him and got myself attack by the mosquitoes. Ouch!!
Trying to get away as fast as I can to get some treatment for the ichy red dots. I passed the police station and the police sitting outside greet to me and I asked him where is the nearest pharmacy to get bug spray. He said the little one was in front of me less in 3 meters. He suggested I should go there and ask. He was mocking about my bug bites as though obviously I am not a real resident here and wearing something unusual.
I almost walking like a monkey scaratching myself from the legs to my thais. Then the small pharmacist said they don’t have the bug spary. She suggested I should go to the one near the train station. It is bigger and should be having the things I am looking for. I gave up my trip to explore the neighborhood area because of the stupid mosquitoes attack and the strange ice breaker.
It was the first personal encounter to have someone really dared to ask me for number. It never happended in Taiwan. I guess that’s because I look totally not a local here with a hugh Professional camera and taking pictures that locals won’t do.
I shouldn’t be exposed my real idenity like this easily. But, I’ll consider that was a beautiful encounter in Koenji with the beautiful way home. And the most important of all, I safely got home by myself. Mission completed. Another good day to say hi!
