我的第一張選票

This morning, I had my first vote in U.S.

Actually, I am not really into politics, so I didn't go to vote for those previous elections even I could. Even when the recall campaign began, I thought it's really silly.

Why we have this recall right after the governor election? If we weren't satisfied with him, why he got re-elected?

However, as times go by, I heard more and more about the election discussion and the news.

Last week, I read the newspaper. The column asked youngsters, yet have voting right, if they will vote for this election. Most of them say "No."

"I am only one person, how does it make a difference?" "Californians didn't voted for Bush, but he got elected anyway."

I guess those are the statements I would make if someone asked me the same question. However, it was really making me think when I saw those kinds of statements from a third person's point of view:

Is its really true? Can't I make any change? I remember when I was in elementary school, the teacher told us, "what would happen if everyone litters thinking it doesn't matter that only he/ she litters?"

Sounds cheesy, right? What the hell did I suddenly come out with that simplist thing?

Well, I did. So I went to vote, happily and proudly.

Ps. If you ask me who I voted for, I can only tell you: not Arnold.
I was really considering about him, but after knowing his sexual misconduct behavior, I knew there's non-deal.
