End of SATC - what does that suppose to mean?!

First of all, currently we don't have HBO at home. My curiosity was aroused by my sister-in-law as she mentioned it would be Sex and City last episode on Sunday night. So, I went to its official website to check out the story this morning.

Okay...

Marianda with Steve
Charlettte with Harry
Samantha with Smith
And, Carrie, with Big....

So,
What does that suppose to mean?
Where is the girl saying he is bad to her?
Where is the girl inspires so many young female in the real world that they can still live well without a man?

Well, I guess it's good that everyone finds their love.
I know the story probably will continue after the show is over
But, how come those "independent" women still have to be with someone at the end?

It kind of reminds me the Tai-shin Credit Card commercial several years ago. Even the theme said "Ernest woman is the most beautiful," the three girls still have a guy to assure their achievements.
